Love, laughter & happy ever after. If you were to look back at your wedding photos in 20 years time, how would you like to describe them. Would it remind you of the overwhelming love you had for each other or the laughs you shared. Would it give you that happy feeling in the pit of your tummy as one of the best days of your life. This is where my passion for weddings come from. The joy of creating lifelong memories that can still bring out heartfelt emotions for years to come. Since this is probably your first wedding. I thought it might help to give you a glimpse of a typical timeline.
Getting Ready To cover every aspect of a wedding I like to start from the moment the wedding day begins. Pictures of the bride getting her makeup done or the nervous groom and his best man having a heart to heart before they get to the church make for wonderfully natural shots. Shots of the mother of the bride proudly fitting her daughters veil is a perfect way to remind any woman of the excitement of her wedding day Similarly to this, your photographer needs to fade into the background during the wedding day to take pictures that are natural. Snaps that are are often the best ones. All emotions and heart warming moments captured.
The Ceremony Your photographer needs to be there to capture the ceremony that not everyone sees, such as the groom waiting nervously for his bride to come gliding down the aisle. A picture of the mother of the bride turning to look proudly at her daughter on the most special day of her life. The exchanging of the vows, the ring and then the first kiss as husband and wife, walking down the aisle and coming out of the church to all friends and family throwing confetti.
Creative and Epic Photographs As the Bride and Groom relax and the hard part is over, they share their first memories as a married couple. Family portraits can be captured at the church before everyone departs or when you arrive at the hotel. then it’s off on their own (with the photographer) to get some photographs of the newlyweds on their special day. These are often the most cherished photos from your wedding day for years to come. These can be posed and formal, fun and silly, artistic and modern or a mixture of whatever you want. It’s your wedding day!
The Reception The reception is where the fun begins. As you start to relax and mix, some of the best pictures can be taken. Giving the speeches and the first dance, as well as the newlyweds walking in to a round of applause are all perfect photo opportunities. Cutting of the cake needs to be recorded as well as the first dance and your photographer should be there to take the final few photos of tearful farewells to friends and families before the happy couple begin the journey of the rest of their life together.
